Gayatri Joshi is a model turned former Bollywood actress. She began her journey as a model in 1996 and became one of the top 5 finalists in the Femina Miss India contest in 1999. Her Bollywood debut was “Swades” opposite Shah Rukh Khan. This is also her only Bollywood movie. It made her an overnight sensation.
But the actress left the limelight only to get married and settle down. It’s been 12 years now and the actress is happily married to Vikas Oberoi. Her husband is a business tycoon, owner of the Oberoi Realty and also one of the richest families in India.
The marriage was a hush hush event. Gayatri got married to Vikas in 2005 in a very private ceremony in Las Vegas in 2005. They couple are blessed with two sons, one born in 2006 and another in 2010 respectively.
The net worth of Vikas is 10,000 crores, which has been increasing day in and day out owing to his real estate business. Gayatri has never since then, came out and spoken about her marriage and married life. Vikas has time and again spoken about his personal life to various finance magazines.
He said in an interview, “I had known Gayatri for a long time before we got married. We were just friends, more like acquaintances. Luckily, we kept bumping into each other and I strongly felt she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”
Gayatri has been spotted quite a few times hanging around with her Bollywood friends like Twinkle Khanna and Suzanne Khan. It is quite surprising that she has taken the backseat and lets her husband do the talking on her behalf. Moreover, her Instagram and Twitter accounts are private as well. Her husband at times keeps sharing anecdotes from their happily married life.
In an interview to a travel magazine, Vikas said, “Gayatri and I share a passion for travel. Our pre-requisites for the perfect holiday are great food, amazing weather and lots of outdoor activities. We spend our summers either in Europe or in the beach in Thailand. When it comes to all time favourite holiday spots, we each have our different choices. Gayatri loves Capri for its old world charm, whereas for me the Maldives is the perfect place to unwind. We’re both excited about discovering new places, as we always come home with such wonderful memories.”
